PORTUGAL - SPORT ONSIGHT SPORT - REGUENGO DO FETAL
POSITION: A whole valley of small cliffs that run east to west 80-90 routes, about 5km to the east of Bathalla, a fine tourist town to the south of Leira. Central south Portugal.
North cliffs - Opposite. There are about 5 different sectors with overhangs and caves to offer a big selection of routes. Nothing too long or daunting, but the technical complexity of the routes is good, and even though they are short, the impact and sensation is just the ticket. Sheltered from any cold winds, and steep enough to keep dry in the odd shower. Ideal to keep warm on cool days when the sun is shining.
South cliffs are dark and somber - up to 20 metres high. Techincal pockets and smooth rock. All grades but tend to stay damp after rain. In general there are plenty of routes to go round, parking just below, and you can either pick a sunny or shady spot. Ideal for a couple of days for anyone.
