OVERVIEW

The highest mountains are in the Southern Vosges, with Martinswand being very close to Hohneck, and giving a whole selection of Granite cliffs - big and small. There is also deep red sandstone near Colmar with Gueberschwihr and Bergholtz - above brilliant vineyards. Just south of Montbeliard is the giant cliff above Pont-de-Roide of Crêt des Roches - 240 routes all incuded. To the south is the high plateau above the Doubs river around the town of Maiche - some very good small calcaire cliffs. Finally, Beaume-les-Dames has just about something for everyone with calcaire cliffs next to the river.
