SANDSTONE - SOUTH EAST ENGLAND STONE FARM ROCKS A few miles S of East Grinstead This outcrop is owned and managed by the British Mountaineering Council. It is small and is made up of several small butresses on top of a hill, that overlooks the Weir Wood reservoir. A lot of the routes are overgrown bouldering, but in many places, the landings are not so good - so a top rope is definitely the order of the day.GETTING A LOT OUT Because the outcrop is small and not obvious, a guidebook here is really useful. It's a nice place for beginners, a mixed group, and a good view and fun place. There isn't a lot to offer the harder 6a climber - apart from a few desperates. Photo: Stone Farm Pinnacle |
