Bourgogone - Auvergne AUXOIS - BEAUNE - MACON This is very much the heart of Bourgogne/Burgundy, and contains some brilliant cliffs that offer a complete variety of climbing. Most of it is low lying and dries quickly, making it ideal climbing for all seasons except winter. Some areas also have bird restrictions, but these are often on sectors of the cliffs, rather than the whole cliffs themselves. The guidebook is very comprehensive to all of the cliffs. Individual guidebooks can be found to some of the more popular cliffs, but many do not have a paper version of a guidebook. The area is also a lovely area to visit for both food cuisine and wine tasting, and high prices equally reflect the high quality on offer.
