Bourgogone onsight - Topo Guide SAINT-DENIS-DE-VAUX A very nice little cliff set in the woods above the quiet hamlet of Saint-Denis. This is a perfect little cliff for beginners that are just starting out. It is also a good cliff for instructors to keep an eye on safety etc, as the whole area is very compact and the routes are quite short and well protected. The top is also relatively easy to get to and set up a top rope. Consequently it is quite popular with local youth groups, but I have found that they do not often take up the whole of the crag, and are rarely there for that long. A lovely little grass area just above the crag provides a peaceful open space for a picnic and relaxing in the sun. Summary: 26 routes, in the low grades 3-6a; up to 17m high.
