Bourgogone onsight - Topo Guide LANTENAY There is a beautiful valley situated to the North West of Lantenay, that is a really serene and beneficial to any climbers well being. There is a big collection of tiny buttress that peep above the trees. Some get overgrown, and others stay overgrown. There are parts however that remain popular and offer very good hard routes in the 6a-8a grades. We include about 50 routes in our guide in the most spectacular part of Mammouth rock. The style of climbing is very similar to the Frankenjura, and the grades do not come easily at all. There are some other areas that are good for beginners which are illustrated in our guidebook. There is always a particular magic about visiting this almost lost coombe, it is nearly always quiet and the routes are not chalked up, so you are in for a good hard time on sight. Some of the rock is shattered, but the technical moves far outweigh any of the looseness. There is also a lovely plateau at the top which gives a picnic spot with a superb view. Summary: 400 routes 4-7c with full spread of grades; up to 20m high. Photo: The Mammoth, Lantenay. |
